It is revealed from the data of the CNNIC that by December 31, 2010, the amount of the netizens in China had reached 457 million, among which the mobile phone netizens had reached 303 million. The number of IPv4 addresses had reached 278 million. The total number of domain names had reached 8.66 million, among which the number of the domain “.CN” had reached 4.35 million, the number of the websites had reached 1.91 million, and the bandwidth of the international entrance had reached 1,098,957Mbps.

Renren launched the "Peacemaking Patch" and claimed that it could guarantee the simultaneous operation of QQ and 360 software and thus resolve the conflict between the two.

The 79th conference of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) was held in Beijing. It was for the first time in the mainland of China that IETF conference was held.

The open beta version of shenbian.baidu was launched.

Kingsoft, Baidu, Sogou, Maxthon and Keniu jointly announced that their apps would not be compatible with 360 software, the biggest incompatibility incident in the Chinese Internet history. But before the press conference was concluded, Sohu Chairman and CEO Zhang Chaoyang posted on weibo saying, "As far as I know, Sogou has no plan to become incompatible with 360 software". Sogou CEO Wang Xiaochuan was not present at the press conference and later denied indirectly Sogou's participation in the incompatibility plan.

The lecture videos of 57 professors and scholars were uploaded to youku and their copyright holder Superstar Information Technology Co., Ltd filed a lawsuit against Youku and claimed the compensation of nearly RMB 10 million.
